Football for ALL Abilities
Since Claygate Royals were founded in 1966, our vision has always been to offer a safe, secure and relaxed environment for everyone to learn, play and develop through football. A key part of this is our commitment to maintain a diverse, inclusive and welcoming club where everyone is encouraged, nurtured and treated equally.
In England and Wales, just under 1 in 5 people have a disability of some kind (2021 census). So, we want to make sure that we are working as hard as possible to include as many people as possible.
We are now exploring how CRFC could offer pan-disability football, a pathway for children and adult players with a broad spectrum of impairments and health conditions. The starting point for this is to understand who could be interested in participating in football for people with a disability.
So, if you, anyone in your family, or anyone else you know in the local area could be interested in taking part, we would be really grateful if you could fill in this interest form. This will allow us to understand the number of people who might be interested in this, as well as an indication of the potential disabilities that we will need to consider how best we can support.
At this stage, we are hoping that there will be no cost associated with joining in, so we hope this will not deter anyone from sharing their interest. Also, if you are interested in joining our efforts to drive this forward, then please mail me on ross01@gmail.com.
In addition, if you are connected to other resources that could help us to move this forward, such as local school or community resources, then let me know. And please feel free to share any thoughts and suggestions that may help to make this initiative a success - all help and guidance will be gratefully received!
